Jet2 video reveals coronavirus rules that passengers will have to follow ahead of its flights and holidays restarting on July 15

  • Passengers will have to wear face masks in the airport and onboard planes
  • Coverings such as scarves, snoods, balaclavas are not acceptable, says Jet2
  • Travellers will board in small groups on to ‘professionally cleaned’ aircraft

Jet2 has released a video detailing the coronavirus rules that holidaymakers will have to follow from next week.

The tour operator is restarting flights and holidays on Wednesday, July 15, after the easing of travel restrictions.

And its new video shows how passengers will be required to wear face masks throughout their journey and board in small groups on to aircraft that are ‘professionally cleaned each day’.

Jet2 has released a new video revealing the new coronavirus rules holidaymakers will have to follow. They include having to wear a mask throughout the journey

The clip starts by explaining what passengers should do before they leave home with Jet2 advising customers to check-in online and download their own boarding passes to ‘keep things contact-free’.

Hand luggage should be ‘light’ and holidaymakers are told to ‘pack enough face masks for the rest of your holiday’.

If a passenger has symptoms of coronavirus, they won’t be allowed to fly.

On arriving at the airport, Jet2 says face masks should be worn and kept on.

According to the Jet2 website, ‘coverings such as scarves, snoods, balaclavas or any similar items aren’t acceptable for travel’.

Perspex screens have been fitted at check-in desks and holidaymakers can also use ‘one-touch’ self-service screens to check-in luggage.

While boarding in small groups, Jet2 says passengers will be required to scan their own boarding passes and show their passports while quickly removing their masks to confirm their identity.

Jet2 says all of its planes are ‘professionally cleaned from nose to tail each and every day’ and fogged with a ‘long-lasting disinfectant spray’.

The video then shows that a full on-board trolley service will be in operation on flights, with passengers urged to pay using contactless cards.

On landing, the video says masks should be kept on until holidaymakers reach their hotels and that they should practice social distancing.

A Jet2 spokesperson told MailOnline Travel: ‘We are looking forward to welcoming customers back onboard from July 15, 2020. Things may look and feel a little different, but customers can rest assured that they are in very safe hands when they go on holiday with us.

‘Looking after customers every step of the way is what we do best and that’s why we’ll bring the same industry-leading service that our customers know and love, with some extra measures to keep everyone safe and sound.

‘Whether it’s before travel, at the airport, in the air, on holiday, or on the way home, everyone’s safety is our number one priority.
