Glamping in Dorset's Green Valley Yurts will offer families a tranquil weekend with plenty of activities

WHAT’S IT LIKE? Peaceful, ideal for a romantic break or family trip.

ROOMS ANY GOOD? The Mongolian-style yurts have all the creature comforts – futons for sleeping, woodburning stove, colourful throws and fairy lights.

EAT HERE OR GRAB A PIZZA? Each yurt has a barbecue outside.

We ate out on both nights – bliss.

A barn onsite has all you need to cook and there is a vegan cafe too.

WHAT ELSE? Lots of space between the yurts, so you don’t feel squashed.

The spot is tranquility itself but also well placed for exploring.

Nearby Cerne Abbas has shops, pubs and coffee shops.

For beaches, choose from Weymouth, Portland and Swanage.

When we arrived it was a beautiful sunny afternoon and the kids were free to feed the resident pigs, play on the tyre swing and paddle in the stream.

SO YOU’D GO BACK? I have already booked for next year.

WHAT’S THE DAMAGE? £275 for a four-night midweek stay;
