Fortunately you don’t have to go far – there are some incredible stays right here in the UK.

Compared to some of the bigger treehouses, this one is much more rustic – the toilet is in a cabin on the ground floor and you’ll have to head to the main house for a shower.

But the gorgeous property has a tree growing right through it, with views of the Kentish countryside from the windows, so you’ll wake up surrounded by nature.

A charcoal barbecue is provided if you want to cook, or there are plenty of local pubs nearby.

Prices start from £100 a night (£50pp), with a minimum stay of two nights.

For a family getaway with all of the luxuries of a hotel, try the Treetops Treehouse.

The charming treehouse is set in the six acre grounds of the Fox and Hounds Country Hotel in Eggesford.

It has a master bedroom with a king size bed for the grown ups, and a bunk room for the kids.

The bathroom is maybe even better as it has a full size, standalone copper bath.

There’s a small kitchen, plus a barbecue, or you can head to the hotel itself.

Stays here start from £265 a night – or £66.25pp for a family of four.

The Enchanted Faraway Tree, Kent

The Enchanted Faraway Tree is a pretty unusual set up in that it features a bedroom in a treehouse plus a mini enchanted garden with living space.

Designed for couples, the bedroom has a see-through ceiling so you can lie in bed at night and look at the stars.

Walk down into the garden and you’ll find the hot tub and fire pit, perfect for cosying up.

There’s also a small living room space, kitchenette and bathroom.

Prices start from £230 a night (£115pp), with a minimum stay of two nights, and it includes all of the facilities plus a welcome hamper with bubbles.

The Old Oak at Coleman's Farm, Essex

Another one for couples, the Old Oak at Coleman's Farm is a really cosy treehouse with the trunk running right through the middle of the property.

On one floor you have the bedroom, which opens out onto a deck with hammocks where you can relax.

There’s also a small kitchenette so you can make teas and coffees to enjoy in bed.

The bathroom is on a separate floor, with the bath right next to the window.

Stays here start from £250 a night, working out to be £125pp.

Wolf Wood Treehouses, Devon

There are actually three treehouses to choose from at Wolf Wood Treehouses but by far the best is the Lookout.

The cosy bolthole designed for two makes the most of the canopy-level views with a huge deck area.

You can sit outside for drinks and dinner, or soak in the outdoor tub.

A full size kitchen plus a huge living space inside means you can cook up a storm or just lounge by the wood burning stove.

Stays here start from £285 (£142.50pp) with a minimum stay of two nights required.

Heartwood Treehouse, Powys

This luxurious treehouse offers stunning views of the Welsh countryside, and it’s designed for couples.

Heartwood Treehouse has a spacious living room with a full kitchen that opens up onto a deck overlooking the views.

The bedroom features a standalone bath that takes advantage of the views as well – there’s also a separate bathroom with shower.

Outside, there’s a cosy hot tub for two for those cooler nights.

Stays here start from £299 a night (£149.50pp), with a minimum of two nights required.
