Poundland has expanded the food ranges on offer in recent years. It has rolled out its Free From range to more UK branches.
Poundland is known for stocking essential products for an affordable price.
In the past it has focused on everyday items such as batteries, beauty products and snacks.
However, it has expanded the products on offer over the last couple of years.
As well as introducing a clothing range, there are more food options available than ever.
The retailer recently brought out a Free From range as it rivals products in popular supermarkets.
The Free From collection consists of more than 30 items which cater for those with a food allergy or intolerance.
This includes dairy-free and gluten-free versions of popular products.
Shoppers can pick up Free From breads, porridge, milk and biscuits, among other items.
Poundland will also stock popular Free From brands including Alpro, Nadk and Trek.
The collection will be available in around 300 stores in dedicated Free From bays.
The expansion follows a successful trial in 16 branches last year.
The range will be put into locations across Scotland, England and Wales.
Poundland head of FMCG trading Glyn Hughes said: “Our pilot scheme showed just how much awareness there is about Free From foods such as dairy-free and gluten-free and how important they are to people with allergies and intolerances.
“They want to be able to buy them as part of their regular shop and now customers at hundreds of our stores will be able to pop them in their basket at Poundland’s amazing prices.”
Shoppers have shared their excitement over the new range and posted about it online.
One wrote: “@Poundland just saw you are rolling out a new ‘free from’ range which I am super excited about.”
Another simply said: “Thank you Poundland.”
This discount chain will also introduce its frozen and chilled range into more stores this summer.
More than 200 locations will have chilled and frozen foods in the near future.
By Autumn, the number of stores offering the service could rise to 250 and there may be as many as 500 branches with the frozen range in two years time.
The roll out has already started and Poundland aims to have the range in 37 more branches by the end of August.
