Have you been storing your vegetables wrong?
Many of us keep our fruit and veg in the basket in our fridge.
But according to some, doing this isn’t the best idea because it can cause the produce to freeze.
A Facebook user was surprised to see this advice when she spotted a sticker on her refrigerator.
She took to the Mums Who Clean Facebook group to share a picture of the notice, which reads: "Do not store fruits or vegetables in the chilled room.
“The fruits or the vegetables could get frozen."
Alongside the image, the asked: “So I’ve been doing this wrong my whole life??”
The post racked up 180 likes and dozens of comments – and many agreed that fruit and veggies should be stored elsewhere.
One responder remarked: “No wonder my veggies always freeze.”
Another said: “Legit found this out yesterday after pulling out frozen carrots and broccoli.”
And a third added: “Mine freezes all the time too. Thought it was just my fridge being a pr*ck.”
Many were baffled as to what they should store in their fridge drawers.
But thankfully, commenters came up with some suggestions.
One wrote: “I keep my meat in the bottom crisper – always colder and safest place for meat to be.”
And another recommended: “That's the drinks drawer. But good point that it's probably for meat!”
It’s worth noting that fridge rules differ depending on what model you have.
While some appliances don’t advice keeping veggies in the drawers, this isn’t always the case.
We’d recommend checking your manual to see the best advice for your fridge.
