Mum branded ‘trashy’ over baby’s ‘incredibly dangerous’ inch-long manicure

A mum has been branded "trashy" online after she showed off her baby’s manicure featuring “incredibly dangerous” inch-long nails.

The woman showed off her little one's talons in a Facebook post as she also offered her services to other mums.

She shared four photos of the little girl wearing false nails on each of her tiny fingers in three different manicure styles.

These included square, an oval edge and stiletto – which many thought were particularly dangerous for a young baby due to the sharpened tip.

Captioning her post she wrote: “I can do your babies nails. PM me for info. Cheap rates (sic).”

The advert has since been shared on Reddit too, where many fellow parents were outraged as they spoke about the risks of the nails.

One exclaimed: “Baby nails are sharp enough as is, I can't imagine equipping my daughter with claws. Hard pass.”

While another fumed: “You’re supposed to keep your baby’s nails cut short so they don’t hurt themselves… this is trashy and f***ing stupid.”

A third asked: “Wtf is wrong with this world.”

Despite the backlash several others suggested that the image may have been Photoshopped.

One mum who has had far more positive feedback this week is 'super mum' Barbara Higgins – one of the oldest women to give birth in the world.

The 57-year-old, who welcomed her son Jack into the world on March 20, conceived her baby boy via IVF treatment with husband Kenny Banzhoff.

And amazingly, the age-defying parent – from New Hampshire, US – was working out in the gym the day before she went into labour.

Husband Kenny, 65, is delighted his partner’s dreams have come true, saying: "We've beat the odds. I'm so proud of her, she's been a trooper through the whole thing."
