Blessed be the fruit of Margaret Atwood’s pen.
The 79-year-old Canadian author announced Wednesday that she is penning a sequel to her classic 1985 dystopian novel, “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
Called “The Testaments,” the sequel will take place 15 years after the final sequence in “Handmaid’s,” and will be narrated by three female characters. The author announced the book on Twitter with a message for her fans: “Dear Readers: Everything you’ve ever asked me about Gilead and its inner workings is the inspiration for this book. Well, almost everything! The other inspiration is the world we’ve been living in.”
