Lena Dunham opened up for the first time about her “impromptu” wedding to husband Luis Felber after being secretly engaged for only one month.

“I was trying to parse it, and we were sort of talking about it, but talking around it,” she told Vogue of their engagement in an interview published Wednesday. “So we just cut the 10 years down to 10 hours. And then we took a month to get married instead of waiting six months or a year.”

The “Girls” creator, 35, and the Peruvian-English musician, 32, tied the knot Saturday at London’s members-only Union Club with a small group of about 60 guests, including Taylor Swift.

Swift, 31, was one of Dunham’s bridesmaids alongside actors Myha’la Herrold and Tommy Dorfman, pal Rosa Mercuriadis, cousin Jenna Hally Rubenstein, Felber’s sister, Alma-Kori Felber, and Dunham’s podcasting partner, Alissa Bennett.

“You can have a far bigger wedding with less bridesmaids, but I guess it just speaks to how excited I was to have my close friends there,” the Golden Globe winner said.

“My girlfriends have had to deal with a lot of not-so-happy things with me in our adulthood, so to be able to celebrate something joyful and use it as an excuse to be together was very special.”

The bride wore three custom dresses designed by Christopher Kane, while her groom wore a custom blue suede suit by Emily Bode.

Although the wedding took place amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple took many precautions to keep themselves and their guests healthy: All were required to take two lateral flow tests and present proof of vaccination.

“I’m immune compromised, so I take COVID restrictions really seriously,” Dunham said, adding, “but it’s important to both of us. Lu wants to keep me safe, and he wants live music to come back, and he is also just thoughtful about human safety in general!”

Masks were also made available at the venue, which provided enough space for social-distancing.

Dunham, whose mother is Jewish, and Felber, whose father is Jewish, also shared that they incorporated some of their heritage’s traditions into their ceremony.

They exchanged vows, which they wrote themselves, underneath a makeshift chuppah designed by florist Gail Smith, and their officiant, Dr. Harrie Cedar, helped them incorporate some of the traditional elements such as as the bride and groom circling each other three times, drinking from the same wine cup, and breaking a glass to mark the end of the ceremony.

Dunham added, “Lu did some really amazing Spanish-accented Hebrew that had the whole place in stitches.”

Page Six was first to confirm the writer and rocker, who is known professionally as Attawalpa, were dating in early June after she hinted in April to the New York Times that she had been dating someone for a “few months.”

Dunham then confirmed the relationship herself just a few days later in a romantic birthday tribute to Felber, writing, “I am the luckiest.”
