He told me he was thinking of having it done. I said “OK” as we have three children and don’t want any more. He’s 35 and I’m 34.
On the day of the op I felt anxious. When he came out he felt sore and was very bad-tempered with me. When we got home he was tearful.
He hugged me and said I am his world. Since then I can’t help but feel hatred for him. I’ve tried to discuss this but he simply says that he made the decision, not me, which makes me hate him still.
DEIDRE SAYS: It is not really hate, it’s more that you’re both going through pain that you didn’t expect.
If you’d voiced any doubts before, you would most likely still have made the same choice – but you would have felt more in control.
Find counselling if these feelings of anger don’t pass.
