HomeGoods Is Finally Launching An Online Store This Year, So You Can Shop Without Leaving Your Couch

Nothing tops the feeling of walking down the aisles of your local HomeGoods, hunting for an assortment of treasures and trinkets to spruce up your home. It’s become a beloved one-stop-shop for many: You can find splurge-worthy items (think: statement rugs, living room furniture, and floor-length mirrors), hidden gems, and practical staples all at a fraction of their original retail cost.

But we don’t need to convince you that HomeGoods is the place to be — if you’re reading this, then you already know just how magical it is. That’s why the latest HomeGoods news is so exciting: The TJX Companies, Inc, that also own Marshalls, Sierra, and TJ Maxx, recently announced that they are working on a HomeGoods online store, expected to launch in late 2021. Shopping through HomeGoods in bed? A dream.

In an official statement, the retailer’s public relations manager, Joanna Howarth, shared that the new website will give customers the ability to shop 24/7, 365 days a year: “We are excited about our plan to add HomeGoods to our U.S. e-commerce offerings later next year, which already include,, and We believe that current HomeGoods customers and new customers alike will love having the opportunity to shop our unique selection, great brands, and incredible values not just in store, but also from anywhere, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We look forward to bringing our treasure hunt experience online and hope our customers will enjoy this new way to ‘Go Finding.'”

While you may think that this news means there are store closures on the way, think again. “To both leverage our strength in the home category and capitalize on our market share growth opportunities, we are pleased to share that we plan to rollout e-commerce on later next year,” Ernie Herrman, CEO and president of The TJX Companies, Inc., said in a press release about the company’s Q3 earnings.

Like many other businesses, HomeGoods had to shut down stores and distribution centers in response to COVID-19, and currently faces uncertainty about what lies ahead. Currently, there are 821 HomeGoods stores nationwide, and the company remains confident that adding an online shopping experience will only enhance the brand in the long-run. “Longer term, when we are past this health crisis, we are very confident that we will continue to gain more customers and drive the successful growth of TJX well into the future,” they wrote.

Right now, you can check out to get the latest on store hours and closings, as well information about return policies and safety precautions. But in a matter of time, you’ll be able to shop the latest and greatest in home furnishings and decor without even leaving your couch. Best news ever? We think so!
