Get your house organised without breaking the bank with these savvy hacks

SORT your home out without leaving the house.

The hashtag #HomeHack is trending on TikTok, with more than 400million hits.

I spoke to the interiors experts at Stelrad who have compiled their best budget house-sorting tricks so you can get your place organised.

REUSE JARS: When finished with old coffee and jam jars, you can reuse them for a series of purposes by following this easy hack. Start by removing the outside label — if there’s paper residue then use nail- varnish remover to clean — then wash completely with soapy water. Once you have a clean jar you can then reuse it as a vase for flowers or to store dried foods such as pasta.

FORGET THE DUSTER: Find it hard to clean the top of cupboards and shelves? Simply line the top of your cupboards with a layer of old newspapers. When cleaning, you can easily remove the newspaper and add a new layer each time. This minimises dust and makes cleaning easier.

KEEP YOUR LOO ROLLS: There’s no need to throw away used toilet rolls — you can now use them to make your curtains look sleek and hotel-inspired.
Over on TikTok, thousands of people are using empty toilet rolls and are spacing them evenly between curtain pleats so they hang perfectly neatly and uniformly. The hack is so popular, even cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch shared the tip with her 4.1 million Insta followers.

SIMPLE BEDSHEET TRICK: Sick of ironing creased bed sheets? Then this hack will save you a lot of time and effort. Avoid ironing sheets by simply spraying your base sheet with tap water before tucking them into the bed. Then after the sheet dries it will look like you have ironed it. Genius.

SOME-BIN GENIUS: Using this next hack you can keep your kitchen bin smelling fresh. TikTok suggests adding essential oils to a cotton-wool ball then placing it under your bin bag to keep any bad odours at bay.
