Asda isn't doing Black Friday but it is having sales – here's what we know so far

This year the supermarket is likely to offer lower prices for a longer period again, rather than just 24 hours of flash sales.

Walmart-owned Asda has claimed responsibility in the past for bringing Black Friday to the UK.

But the supermarket pulled out of the mega-sale day in 2015.

Despite this, previous years have seen Asda run sales on homeware, toys and fashion throughout the festive season.

Our tips for finding the best deals this Black Friday and Cyber Monday

PREPARE Research the items you want to buy and find out the cheapest price. Websites like PriceSpy, PriceHistory and CamelCamelCamel will give you historical data on prices so you can see how much you should pay.

GET FOLLOWING Follow your favourite shops on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and sign up to its deals newsletter to get the latest on any offers. We post the best deals in our Sun Money FB group too.

EARN CASHBACK Check websites like Quidco and TopCashback BEFORE you place your order. Cashback websites PAY you to shop. All you have to do is click through their links and the money is added to your online account, usually within 14 days.

CHECK FOR CODES Take a look at The Sun Vouchers, and see if you can get extra savings with discount codes.

In the past, Asda has explained that feedback from customers suggested that they would rather have regular low prices instead of flash sales.

Asda hasn't published its plans for this year yet, but we're confident that there will be bargains in the run up to Christmas.

It has over 200 stores across the UK. To find your nearest one use this branch finder.

Even though Asda is likely to swerve Black Friday, we're expecting other supermarkets, such as Lidl and Sainsbury's to offer up deals.

We'll be updating this story as any Asda sales are announced.

Asda announced earlier this month that it is testing out a pizza delivery service with Just Eat.

It is also selling ready-to-eat chocolate hazelnut waffles, which look delicious!

The supermarket is selling a giant mince pie for £1.50 – and its almost THREE times the size of a normal one.
