The Home and Away cast and crew have paused filming due to the Coronavirus restrictions in Sydney.
The Australian soap, that airs on Channel 5 in the UK, previously stopped production and was expected to resume filming, but it’s been confirmed the break will be extended.
This comes after the restrictions in Sydney have been tightened.
The network behind Home and Away confirmed to Digital Spy that the cast won’t return to set for a while.
The statement read: ‘The health and safety of all Seven West Media employees is paramount. With the ongoing COVID-19 related restrictions, Home and Away’s scheduled two-week production break has been extended as a precautionary response to the current pandemic’.
Shane Withington, who plays John Palmer, updated his followers with the news.

He wrote on Twitter: ‘It really looks like they want people to stay at home unless their work is essential’.
Right now, people in Sydney are only allowed to do essential work until July 30. This includes exercise and shopping for food.
