Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Lidl issue urgent food recall amid serious salmonella fears

Food products sold in Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose and Lidl have been recalled. Some items could pose the risk of salmonella for those who consume them. The recall follows the possible infection of Brazil nuts that have been used in the products sold in various shops.

Eat Natural and HEMA bars

Hand2Mouth Ltd has issued a warning on a number of Eat Natural and HEMA cereal bars.

These are sold by retailers including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose.

The food items may contain salmonella which could be very dangerous for customers.

Symptoms of salmonella include fever, vomiting, stomach cramps and headaches.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has shared advice for customers who have bought the items.

The website said: “If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.”

Lidl

Deluxe Dark Chocolate Muesli Bar with Brazils and Cranberries

The supermarket has recalled a cereal bar product as it also poses the risk of salmonella.

The affected packs are in the size 3x45g with the best before dates of end of August 2020, September 2020, October 2020, December 2020, January 2021, February 2021, March 2021 and April 2021.

Point-of-sale notices have been placed in stores and customers are asked to return the items if they have purchased them.

The Paleo Foods Co. granola

The FSA website said: “The Paleo Foods Co. is recalling Cocoa & Hazelnut Grain-Free Granola containing Brazil nuts because they may contain salmonella.”

The food product is sold by retailers including Iceland and Holland & Barrett.
