Pizza Express temporarily closed branches in March as the government ordered the coronavirus lockdown.
While restaurants were allowed to stay open for takeaways, the chain completely closed its kitchens.
The announcement made on Twitter at the time said: “We’ve now taken the decision to temporarily close ALL our UK Pizzerias including our Deliveroo, Click & Collect & Takeaway service, effective immediately.”
However, pizza fans are in for a treat as branches will start to reopen for delivery only.
From Thursday 28 May, 13 restaurants in London will open to test how deliveries might work.

New safety measures will be put into place to protect staff going back to work and customers.
However, this will mean only an “edited menu” will be offered to customers.
This will allow the restaurant chain to see how they can operate while maintaining social distancing.
Depending on how the trial goes, other Pizza Express branches could open in the UK.

“There has been huge rigour around all the right safety protocols so our teams feel comfortable.
“Then we can really demonstrate to customers how we are looking after the teams and ensure they trust the quality of the pizza they receive.”
Pizza Express will be the next in a long list of restaurants opening doors for delivery.
