Nando’s is the popular restaurant chain known for its tasty chicken. With the food industry suffering the consequences of the pandemic, eateries are offering its customers deals and discounts when dining in. The chicken chain is handing out thousands of free meals to people eating in its restaurants for a limited time only.
For the next two weeks only, when dining in a Nandos on a Wednesday, customers have the chance to be handed vouchers towards their bill.
The plan, which started at the beginning of October has already seen thousands of discount vouchers issued.
There were 12,500 chances to win, with many still left to be issued.
In a statement, Nando’s said: “With Hump Day the toughest day of the week for most, fans can escape to Nando’s for a PERi-PERi pick-me-up, and chance to win money off their order – with discounts applied at the payment screen, for that added suspense (and surprise).”
This isn’t available for customers who order a take away though.
Winners will be told if they have won a voucher at the time of ordering their food which is now done via a QR code to make sure customers limit their time walking around the restaurant.
People who win well get their meal paid for up to the price of £20.
This means if a customer’s meal comes to £10, then Nando’s will cover that amount of if a meal comes to £25, then the customer will only have to pay £5.

The offer is only redeemable for over 16s and can’t be applied to alcoholic drinks.
However, with only two opportunities for a free meal left, there are other simple ways to make your meal cheaper at Nando’s.
The Nando’s Bonus Card will build up points each time you eat in one of their restaurants.
After a certain amount of visits, customers can redeem free food and sides which will show up on their app which can be downloaded to any mobile device.
When you earn 10 points, also known as chillies in Nando’s, you can redeem your points and get a whole chicken which is worth £12.
For those going for lunch or dinner in their local Nando’s, there are certain guidelines and rules that customers must adhere to.
In a statement on their website, Nando’s said: “We’ve put a new system in place. Instead of lining up outside the restaurant, all you need to do is scan the QR code that you’ll see when you arrive, and we’ll text you when your table is ready.
“We’ve socially distanced our tables and will be operating at a reduced capacity. With social distancing taking place in our kitchens, we have a limited menu right now. Most of the Nando’s meals you know and love are still there though!”
Classics still on the menu include burgers, wraps and pittas as well as their much loved side dishes like chips, rice and creamy mash.
The statement continued: “With the new government advice, all members of our team will be wearing face coverings which we have provided. When you visit, please make sure you wear a face mask too. If you’re Eating-in with us, you can remove it at the table.”
The chain recently closed some of their Scotland and Northern Ireland restaurants due to the latest government guidance.
However customers in those regions can still order their food via Nando’s Collect and Delivery service.
