Lidl introduce their brand new Plus mobile app
Groceries are essential and therefore supermarkets stay open during lockdowns. However, many people prefer to get their food delivered straight to their door. Nearly 40 percent of consumers purchased their groceries online once or twice a month back in 2015, but by August 2020 this had risen to 77 percent. This means at least three quarters of the UK does their grocery shopping online, and the top competitors are Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Asda and Ocado… but do Aldi and Lidl do home delivery too?
Do Aldi do home delivery in 2021?
Aldi does not offer home delivery on groceries and won’t be doing that in 2021.
However, you can have home delivery when you order wines, spirits and non-food Specialbuys on the Aldi website.
If you’re desperate to get your groceries from Aldi but can’t or don’t want to visit a store, there are ways around it.

Express.co.uk contacted Aldi to find out more information on their delivery services.
Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “We know that more and more people want to buy high-quality food at unbeatable Aldi prices and that customers really value having more ways to shop with us.
“By expanding our online presence, we’ve made Aldi accessible to thousands of shoppers who might never have visited Aldi before, or who aren’t able to visit a store in person at the moment.”
One of the ways you can get your shopping delivered is by ordering your Aldi shop through Deliveroo.
The representative said: “By Christmas 2020, Aldi’s rapid delivery service via Deliveroo was available from almost 130 stores across the UK and its click-and-collect service was available in more than 200 stores.”
Customers within a 6km radius of a participating store can use the Deliveroo app to choose from around 400 Aldi grocery items, they said.
These items will then be delivered by Deliveroo’s riders in as little as 20 minutes.
You can check if this service is available locally to you by visiting the Deliveroo app or Aldi.co.uk/deliveroo

Click and collect is another option that allows shoppers to order their grocery items online and pick them up without entering the store.
The spokesman explained: “Shoppers opting for click and collect can choose from a full range of grocery items online, then drive to their local store where their shopping is brought to their car by Aldi colleagues contact-free, in line with social distancing rules.
“Customers can also edit their orders up until 11.50pm the day before.”

Do Lidl do home delivery in 2021?
No, Lidl does not do home delivery in the UK.
There has been speculation online about whether Lidl will start delivering in 2021 as home delivery becomes more popular.
However, Lidl has denied these claims and stressed that they are not going to be delivering any time soon.
You’ll need to go into one of the over 800 Lidl stores to get your shopping for now.
Express.co.uk got in touch with Lidl to find out more information.
A spokesperson said: “Lidl GB is not an ecommerce business and we therefore do not offer online delivery.
“We have not yet identified a model that is suitable for our business and our customers in the long term.
“As such, we continue to focus our attention on our bricks and mortar business, which presents much more potential for us with our continued rapid growth.”
