nonnative is breaking from fashion’s standard season cycle by delivering a “Winter & Spring” lookbook. Following its Summer 2020 lineup, the label’s latest collection is its 38th, presenting a bold mix of winter and spring garments which nonnative plans to deliver in drops as temperatures shift.
nonnative has expressed its frustration towards fashion’s seasonal cycle, where “winter jackets are delivered before summer has reached its peak, and swimwear can appear on shelves while it’s snowing.” The label has decided that it will deliver products on a “seasonally appropriate timeline.” Even after adjusting the collection’s seasonal composition, nonnative’s designs remain distinct with each piece.
Hi-tech fabrics like GORE-TEX, Polartec Wind Pro, CLIMASHIELD and Pliantex have been applied across a range of jackets, coats and lighter mid-layers. Earth-tones, rich indigo dyes and other understated palettes such as olive, navy, gray and charcoal are the primary tones seen over garments like checkered trench coats, puffer vests, khakis, peacoats, velvet trousers, linen shirts, sweatpants, fleece liners and denim button-ups. Satin bomber jackets, waterproof parkas and wool flannels are but a few noteworthy pieces in the collection, livening up nonnative’s eclectic catalog. The lookbook also showcases upcoming collaborations with New Balance, Converse and ASICS.
The first delivery of nonnative’s 38th collection will be available on October 3 on COVERCHORD’s website — prices have yet to be confirmed.
