Mum revamps her son’s boring chest of drawers with a Marvel theme for just £1 – and people love it

A MUM has revealed how she made some epic Marvel-themed chest of drawers for her son for just £1 – and it was very simple to do.

The savvy woman shared incredible before and after photos to Facebook and showed how easy the process was.

She wrote on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK: “Struggled to find storage/drawers suitable for my sons new bedroom theme. These cost me £1.”

The mum shared how the drawers were free on Facebook Marketplace, and the Marvel wallpaper was free samples from B&Q.

Thankfully she already had sandpaper, paint and wallpaper paste, but all she needed was £1 spray-on gloss varnish for the wallpaper.

She wrote: “Sanded down the whole thing, painted the outside with white furniture paint, cut out pieces for the front of the drawers with a little lip on each side to stick down, used wallpaper paste (make sure you paste both sides of the wood to avoid warping) painted the handles and put back on.

“Far from perfect, not a professional job in the slightest but works for me and may help someone decorating on a budget.”

People were highly impressed and the post has racked up thousands of likes.

One person wrote: “Marvellous Emma Lou! Go mama! They look fabulous.”

Another added: “This is awesome, some of you guys are so creative, wish my mind worked this way.”

The humble mum replied: “Thank you everyone for your kind comments, to the ones saying I'm so creative and talented… I'm really not.

“Literally saw someone else do this somewhere so thought i'd give it a bash. Trust me, if I can do it… anyone can.”

Meanwhile, Home Bargains’ £99 hanging egg chairs are back in stock.

And Home Bargains is selling storage box stickers just like Stacey Solomon’s for 79p.
