GROWING up, we couldn't go to the beach without sneaking a cool-looking pebble back in our pockets.
But while we'd instantly lose interest as soon as we got home, TikToker Karla revealed how she proudly took her "pet" rock everywhere with her when she was eight years old.
In a viral video that's racked up over 10 MILLION views, Karla explained how it became her "best friend" when she was third grade [year four].
For the best part of a year, the 21-year-old says she took it "everywhere".
But one unfortunate evening, the primary schoolgirl thought she'd bring the rock in the bath with her.
And that's how she found out it wasn't really a rock at all…

She explained: "You think you can hurt me?”
“When I was 8 I found a cool rock at the beach, named it, made it my best friend, took it everywhere with me.

“Then one time I took it in the bath with me and it started to dissolving.

She joked in the caption: "Grade 3 was a tough time for me."
Needless to say, the twist in the story left viewers reeling.
One joked: "Now that is an interesting bath bomb."
Another added: "That caught me off guard…"
