TAG Heuer’s partnership with Porsche has moved into a higher gear with a new version of its Connected Calibre E4 smartwatch with specific features aimed at Porsche drivers.
The new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 – Porsche Edition not only takes inspiration from Porsche’s all-electric Taycan – with accents in metallic Frozen Blue – but offers exclusive Wear OS features for drivers of compatible Porsche models, including displaying useful instrumentation information like remaining battery charge, range and total mileage.
Connection to the car via the My Porsche app also allows the wearer to control the vehicle’s heating and air conditioning.
The Connected Porsche Edition is the first watch from the partnership since it was launched with the TAG Heuer x Porsche Carrera Chronograph last year.
The watch also offers an exclusive ‘Circuit’ watch face based on printed circuit boards and racing circuits offering “an animated visual effect which connects TAG Heuer watches and Porsche cars with a feeling of technology and speed.”
“For both TAG Heuer and Porsche, the thrill of driving is part of our heritage,” says Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer. “This watch celebrates the fearless spirit of both maisons – as well as highlights the sustainable innovation of the Taycan. This watch evokes many of the passions we share – high performance, technological innovation and our love for unique and unmatched products.”
The Connected Porsche Edition features a 45mm sandblasted black titanium case with a polished black ceramic bezel and black steel crown, which carries a TAG Heuer shield in frozen blue lacquer. The pushers have been engineered to offer a mechanical feel when operated.
The watch is supplied with an interchangeable carbon-like black calf leather strap with rubber base, designed to echo the leather finishing found on Porsche interiors.
The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 – Porsche Edition is available now via TAG Heuer, priced $2,750 USD.
