Holly Willoughby returns to Instagram for first time since Phil Schofield drama
Holly Willoughby has returned to social media for the first time since the fallout from Phillip Schofield’s confession to lying about an affair with a young runner.
The This Morning presenter, 41, has been silent on social media since May 18, when it was announced that Phil would be resigning from the show after more than two decades.
At the time, Holly took to Instagram where she thanked her former co-star for’13 great years’ on TV together and said it would be strange not to nhave him on the sofa beside her.
However in the days following, when Phillip admitted to lying about having an affair with a man 30 years his junior who worked on the show, Holly took to her Instagram stories where she said it was ‘hurtful’ to have been ‘lied’ to.
Holly has not posted anything on social media since, and hid from the spotlight amid the fallout from the bombshell confession as she went to Portugal with her family.
On Monday, Holly returned to This Morning with new co-host Josie Gibson by her side, and addressed the drama directly with a statement at the beginning of the show – and reports have since indicated she is done with speaking about it.
Now the presenter has returned to posting on social media for the first time since the drama started, and seems keen to move on with the show.
She took to her Instagram grid on Tuesday morning to share the outfit she would be wearing on the programme, a sweet floral flock, and beamed at the camera as she posed for a photo.
Alongside the snap, she wrote: ‘Morning Tuesday… see you on @thismorning at 10am with @josiegibson85 … the wonderful @sarah.beeny joins us today to talk about her incredibly important and personal documentary.’
While some in the comments immediately began discussing the drama surrounding Phillip’s departure from This Morning and ITV, others focused on the post itself, with one praising her outfit for its ‘fabulous colours.’
‘You look lovely and I hope you’re feeling ok,’ she added, while one wrote excitedly: ‘GORGEOUS DRESS!!’
Holly addressed the fallout on her first day back on This Morning on Monday, saying first it felt ‘very strange indeed sitting here without Phil.’
She said she had felt ‘shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on and full of questions.’
‘You me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process, and it’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health.

‘I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal, for the health and wellbeing of everyone,’ she continued.
‘I hope that we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.
Following a mixed reaction from viewers, it’s been claimed that yesterday’s instalment will be the only time Holly addresses the fallout.
An insider shared: ‘This is the only time Holly will ever speak about Phil and what has happened. She still feels incredibly angry and upset by his actions and is very much still trying to get her head around it.
‘It took a lot for Holly to compose herself and speak about what has gone on in the last few weeks. But people expecting her to sit and pour her heart out will be waiting for a long time,’ they added to The Sun.
