Piers Morgan has shut down the idea of going on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! following Ant and Dec’s calls for him to sign up next year. The 57-year-old responded to a video shared by the pair on Twitter yesterday after they interacted with fans on Instagram.

After asking fans who they would like to see on the show, one put forward the idea of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The suggestion prompted Ant and Dec to bring up his recent interview with Piers.

Ant said: “The way things are going with him at Man United, he might be here next year. See you next year Ronaldo!”

Dec chimed in: “Ronaldo, he’s just been interviewed by Piers Morgan ain’t he… now Piers Morgan, there’s a campmate I’d like to see.”

Echoing his co-star’s words, Ant added: “Piers Morgan, see you next year kiddo, eat this ball.”

In view of his 8.1 million followers, Piers shared the video and wrote: “Thanks lads @antanddec but on balance I’d rather eat my own testicles.”

Many of his fans flocked to his post to share their thoughts.

Imran Sheikh wrote: “Piers Morgan should definitely go on! Who agrees?”

“I am sure that can be arranged,” Lawrence Christie added.

Dave commented: “Some would say you haven’t got any Piers, Just saying.”

Sir GBear of the Burgh added: “People would pay to watch that.”

It’s not the first time Piers has shut down the thought of being a contestant on the show.

Following his controversial exit from Good Morning Britain last year, Ant took a light-hearted swipe at the presenter being out of a job.

Writing in his Mail Online, Piers said: “Let me make one thing crystal clear: there’s no way I’m ever exposing myself to a series of ghastly gastronomic humiliations for the delectation of the British public.

“When I munch kangaroo testicles, I do so in the privacy of my home.”

While he has no plans to sign up, this hasn’t stopped him from watching and sharing his thoughts on antics in the jungle this year.

Earlier this month, Piers invited guests on his show to discuss Matt Hancock’s controversial signing.

The former Health Secretary will reportedly earn £400,000 for his stint in the jungle.

Last year, he was forced to step down after breaking his own social distancing guidance by kissing his aide Gina Coladangelo.

Speaking to his campmates, Matt said he understood why the public were not his biggest fan and said he would love to be forgiven.

Piers said on his TalkTV show: “Matt Hancock is, of course, the man who puts the cock in Hancock, so tonight I’ve come to The Cock Inn, which happens to be Matt Hancock’s local pub.

“[He] shouldn’t be taking part in I’m a Celebrity. He’s not a celebrity, he’s a shamed politician, who caused thousands of deaths with his decision-making.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
