As the UK prepares to exit the current lockdown period, singer Mollie King has reflected on her engagement to cricket star Stuart Broad, with the pair being forced to live apart for over two months. The 33-year-old announced that the couple were engaged on New Year’s Day, before her husband-to-be, 34, was forced to wave goodbye to his new fiancée just one day after they shared the news and swiftly jetted to Sri Lanka for ten weeks in order to compete.

While Mollie was used to spending time around her other half during the first coronavirus lockdown when the government implemented a “stay at home” order, she has since admitted that she is “adapting” to life without Stuart around the house.

Speaking in a new interview, the star stated: “In 2020 we were living in each other’s pockets and then suddenly he was gone.

“I’m grateful we got to spend a lot of time last year together in lockdown, but he travels so much and I have had to adapt to that.”

The BBC Radio One presenter went on to reveal that while Stuart has been busy competing, she has since found herself creating time for herself and adjusting to life around the house with just her dog, Alfie.

“I love having him around and I miss him so much when he’s not, I have had to train myself that this is what he does and that’s what our lives are, I have been teaching myself to deal with that better,” she added to MailOnline.

Mollie was on “cloud nine” when Stuart got down on one knee, but recalled it being “tough” when they were forced to spend ten weeks apart.

Now, the happy couple has since reunited and have made the most of being around one another, documenting their relationship on their respective social media accounts for their online followers.

Despite not setting a date for their nuptials in accordance with the government guidelines, the former Strictly Come Dancing star has said that they are “taking it slowly” but “dreams” of walking down the aisle as Mrs Broad.

Making the most of the current restrictions, Mollie has been carefully creating ideas for her ceremony and what type of dress she would like to wear for the big day. Although traditionally brides wear white, it seems as though Mollie could be taking a different approach, sharing a collection of coloured ideas to her Instagram grid.

Just several days before Stuart’s homecoming, she shared a collection of wedding dresses that have caught her eye, including a champagne pink coloured gown.

The ruffled look certainly grabbed Mollie’s attention as she captioned the post: “Sunday swooning #dressgoals #weddingdressinspiration.”

Fans were quick to compliment the gown, as well as Stuart who commented two heart-eye emojis.

“This would be beautiful on you,” commented one follower.

A second went on to add: “Can we have a ‘Mollie says ‘yes’ to the dress TV show?'”

Before a third penned: “That is stunning!”

Mollie has however sympathised with couples who have been forced to postpone their nuptials over the past year but has said nothing will come between her planning for the big day.

In a candid Instagram discussion, the Hair Down songstress wrote: “It’s not the easiest time to be planning a wedding right now, as I’m sure some of you have also experienced.

“But nothing can stop me scrolling through gorgeous wedding accounts and dreaming of our big day whenever it might be.”

Sharing their joyful news on social media, Mollie and Stuart delighted fans by sharing a picture of their pair kissing one another as she showcased her diamond ring for all to see as they enjoyed a brisk country walk.

“A thousand times yes! I still can’t believe it, the most magical start to the new year! I can’t wait to spend all my years with you @stuartbroad,” she captioned her upload, before fans and celebrity friends rushed to congratulate the happy couple.
