Millie Mackintosh has given fans an insight into the “ups and downs” of her experience being a first time mum to baby daughter Sienna.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 31, who is married to ex-costar Hugo Taylor, gave birth to her first child, Sienna, in May last year, and has been consistently open and honest about her journey through motherhood with her loyal fans.

And this week she got real about the ups and downs, revealing her gorgeous tot is “moody.”

Sharing a photo of her cuddling her daughter on Instagram, Millie told her 1.4 million followers: “It’s important to me to show you the ups and downs of my journey, not just the smiling photos and happy moments! So today I want to tell you why recently I have found motherhood more challenging.”

Millie went on to add: “Sienna is growing up so fast and changing so much each week and a new thing I have noticed about her is her mood, she can be SO moody. It’s as though she’s training me up for what’s to come, even though toddler tantrums seem like they are a long way off, she’s not even 1 yet!”

Then, the first time mum got real about her daughter’s mood swings.

She said: “I mentioned this change in her mood the other day on my stories and lots of you messaged me saying you were going through the same thing. So I thought I would share a few of the barriers I have come up against, in the hope some of them resonate with your experiences.

"She now fights me when I try to change her nappy, when I dress or undress her and she often kicks me quite hard, this usually comes with lots of shrieking and screaming and no amount of singing or trying to entertain her seem to help.”

Millie then went on to discuss meal times, adding: “Meal times were going really well but I am getting a lot of food refusal at the moment, when Hugo feeds her she is as good as gold and finishes her plate. It makes me think she is hungry and definitely acting up for me which isn’t ideal as he is now back at work full time!

“She has even started to get upset at bath time which she usually loves. I have been coaxing her in with new bath toys and lots of bubble bath, which she has found very entertaining, but it’s sad to see her not enjoying the things that felt so easy and fun before.”

Millie opened up about the “hardest part” of her job as a mother, saying: “I think one of the hardest parts of this chapter is when she acts like she wants me to hold her, grabbing onto my legs, but as soon as I pick her up she cries and whinges to get back down.

“Toys don’t hold her attention for long anymore as she is much more into getting up to mischief so I really can’t take my eyes off her for a second. Her current favourite thing to do is tear pages out of books and eat them!”

Signing off her message, Millie said she wasn’t “moaning,” but just wanted to be open with her followers.

She said: “I don’t want to sound like I’m moaning as it’s all a journey of lessons and learnings and I’m sure this is just a phase. I just wanted to share this chapter of mine with you, incase some of you were going through the same thing and felt you were the only one.”

The star recently opened up about learning to love the marks and scars on her body since having Sienna. Millie also shared her tips for reducing puffiness around her eyes after a tough night without sleep.
