Chef Gordon Ramsay has opened up about how he’s been spending his time in lockdown, revealing he’s spent a lot of hours changing his son Oscar’s nappies.

Gordon said having this much time at home with his children and wife Tana was totally “unprecedented” for him, but that he had been embracing every minute – even when it came to one year old Oscar’s nappies.

The dad-of-five explained: “Having the chance to spend that time with my family is unprecedented.”

Gordon, who is also dad to Megan, 22, twins, Holly and Jack, 19, Matilda, 18, continued: “The reconnect is extraordinary. It’s quality time.

“I must have gone through about 150 diapers with Oscar! I can change a nappy with my eyes closed now,” he added.

Further opening up about his close bond with his children, Gordon explained his eldest son Jack has been away working with the Royal Marines, but that the past few months have given him time to bond even more with little Oscar.

“He’s become my best mate. How fitting is it that my first best mate is now a Royal Marine Commando and I have a new best mate in Oscar,” Gordon said.

And he said he’s already looking forward to giving his mini-me a makeover in the coming months.

Gordon revealed: “I’m dying to cut his hair. I’m thinking he should have a buzz cut. Number two on top and shave the sides to number one.”

Meanwhile, Gordon said that his family have had him working hard in the kitchen to cook up some tasty meals for them all.

He said: “As a chef in lockdown, it’s like running a restaurant seven days a week where no one wants to go home.

“It’s constantly “What’s for dinner Dad?” I know that’s gonna come to an end, so I’m enjoying every minute of it between you and I.”

Gordon has also been very busy working on brand new BBC game show Bank Balance.

The series, which comes to screens very soon, sees Gordon taking on hosting duties as the contestants need to hold their ‘poise, precision, knowledge and nerve’ to build up a pot of cash – or risk losing it all.
