Demi Lovato is set to star in a new NBC comedy, “Hungry,” that will center around issues relating to eating disorders.
According to EW, the story follows friends in a food issues group who “help each other as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better.”
“Hot in Cleveland” creator Suzanne Martin will be writing the comedy and Michael D. Ratner will direct the project.
Lovato will also serve as an executive producer of the single-camera comedy alongside Martin, Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills, and Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson of SB Projects.
NBC has reportedly given the series a put pilot commitment, which means it will pay a penalty if it doesn’t air.
