David Beckham reveals his Christmas traditions as a child included a KFC BARGAIN BUCKET… after enjoying fun-filled visit to Lapland UK
David Beckham has revealed his family Christmas traditions once included a KFC Bargain Bucket.
After treating his four children with a trip to Lapland UK on Thursday, the former footballer confessed that the festive period when he was a child wasn’t quite as grand.
Speaking on new football app OTRO, the 43-year-old recalled how his parents, Sandra, now 69, and David, 70, would start with a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken on Christmas Eve and a new set of pyjamas.

Loving life: Elsewhere, taking to Instagram on Thursday to share snaps from the holiday to Lapland, David captured one sweet moment with eldest son Brooklyn inside Santa’s Grotto
David’s festive reveal comes after the Beckham brood headed to Lapland UK in Ascot to meet Father Christmas.
Taking to Instagram to share snaps from their festive break, David and wife Victoria, 44, gave fans a glimpse into the festivities as they took a tour around Santa’s Grotto.
Despite being the eldest of the Beckham boys, Brooklyn, 19, still threw himself into the festivities, posing for snaps with David, with the patriarch captioning the shot: ‘Handsome Boy’.
Adorable: On the other end of the scale, the youngest member of the family, seven-year-old Harper, looked delighted in snaps as she met Father Christmas
Family fun: Romeo, 16, and Cruz, 13, also happily posed for shots with the family, and although mother Victoria was not pictured with the crew, she uploaded several snaps from the grotto
On the other end of the scale, the youngest member of the family, seven-year-old Harper, looked delighted in snaps as she met Father Christmas, reading him her wish list before going off to make cookies with the elves.
The middle children, Romeo, 16, and Cruz, 13, also happily posed for shots with the family, and although mother Victoria was not pictured with the crew, she uploaded several snaps from inside the grotto.
The Beckhams’ were smart to visit the UK’s equivalent of Lapland, as a drone above Gatwick Airport – resulting in an airport shutdown and knock on effects for other airports – has caused travel chaos for thousands of families.

He’s checking it twice: Harper and Santa examined the naughty or nice list in the grotto
Tasty treats: Harper and David settled in to design biscuits inside the grotto, with Victoria quipping that she wasn’t sure which of them was having more fun with the activity
Yet it appears David has set his sights on a far more grand mode of transport, as he is said to be contemplating travelling to space.
The Sun reports that the football ace has been ‘mulling it over for some time’ and that it’s looking like it could happen now that ‘space travel is becoming a more realistic prospect’.
If that wasn’t enough, the father-of-four apparently even wants to ‘kick a ball’ while he’s up in the ‘celestial heavens’.
Festive family fun: Victoria’s parents Jackie and Tony Adams were also at the grotto
Sister act: David’s sister Joanne also headed to Lapland and shared sweet snaps of the pair

A source told the newspaper: ‘It’s something that David has talked about for quite a while. It has been mooted in the past but now space travel is becoming a more realistic prospect it could be a reality.’
Adding rocket fuel to the fire, David’s children are all said to be beside themselves over the prospect, and ‘have been talking about it and think it would be pretty cool’.
But it’s not all plain intergalactic sailing for the husband of Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer Victoria; the source goes on to admit David has ‘admitted privately he’s very nervous’ about the prospect of being blasted into the ether.

Hilarious: David – who is an impressive six feet tall – joked that he felt short next to one of the elves that was walking around the grotto on stilts
The reports are also said to be backed up by claims that companies such as Virgin Galactic – who will potentially be ready to send tourists to an altitude of 360,890ft ‘in the very near future’ [according to boss Richard Branson] – have their eye on David for sponsorship deals.
Branson has previously said his space tourism firm is on the cusp of being able to carry passengers beyond orbit ‘not too long after’ this year – with him on the first flight.
And it appears that he wants Beckham by his side.
Festive fun: Brooklyn also held up lyrics to a festive song, and whilst he was able to dance along he wasn’t quite up for singing
