Britney Spears has reportedly asked for her father Jamie Spears to no longer be the sole person in charge of her conservatorship.
According to TMZ, Britney’s court-appointed lawyer filed paperwork explaining that the 38-year-old would like to put permanent control of her estate and finances in the hands of her temporary conservator Jodi Montgomery.
The popstar’s dad Jamie has been the co-conservator of his daughter’s lucrative estate and finances since 2008.
But Jamie was given sole control over her estate last year when his co-conservator resigned.
However, Jodi has been in charge since last September when Jamie stepped down due to medical issues.
TMZ reports that Britney would now like a ‘qualified corporate fiduciary’ to take over her business affairs.
The hitmaker’s attorney reportedly said in the documents that her client ‘strongly prefers’ to keep the temporary conservator, Jodi, in place instead of her dad.
The site also claimed the filing also confirmed Britney’s desire to stop performing professionally for the time being.
Her lawyer reportedly claimed the whole conservatorship needs to be overhauled in order to accurately reflect her current lifestyle and choices, the site stated.

It comes shortly after Jamie Spears blasted the #FreeBritney campaign, which he claims is a ‘conspiracy’.
Talking to The New York Post, Jamie continued to speak in favour of the conservatorship, arguing that it’s ‘no one else’s business’ while criticising the fan movement, which calls for Britney to be ‘freed’ from his control.
He also argues that the campaign is ‘a joke’ for seemingly portraying him as a bad father.
‘All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue,’ he told the publication. ‘It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.’
Jamie also denied that he has been stealing money from Britney, 38, stating: ‘I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year. How the hell would I steal something?’
Later referring to the types of fans he has witnessed campaign against the conservatorship, he said: ‘People are being stalked and targeted with death threats. It’s horrible. We don’t want those kinds of fans.’
Jamie added that he ‘loves’ Britney, but the situation is ‘private’.
