A happy couple said “tri do” with a little gentle prodding from Aquaman star Jason Momoa.
The actor, 39, was enjoying the beach with his family and friends on Oahu, Hawaii, when the wedding party spotted him. And being a true hero, he was happy to oblige when asked to wield a trident for some jokey snaps.
Jason’s film, based on the ocean-dwelling DC Comics character, is making waves at the box office – and his surprise turn was the catch of this big day.
In Aquaman, Arthur Curry, the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, must step forward to lead his people against his half-brother, Orm, who seeks to unite the seven underwater kingdoms against the surface world.
And the film’s star Jason Momoa was spotted photobombing these newly weds before graciously posing for countless selfies with fans in true superhero style.
In a recent interview with Variety, Jason’s co-star Nicole Kidman spoke out about the film.
She said: "I knew (director) James Wan was going to do something really interesting and really fun and I’ve wanted to work with him since he started out in Australia in low-budget horror, and I’ve followed his career.
"I do this with directors, I follow certain directors. So I’ve been following James."
"And then he showed me some of the drawings (he was) doing, and he said, ‘See this is why you have to be in the movie, because I’ve drawn her to look like you.’"
Sadly it wasn’t Jason’s muscles which won her over, in that case, despite his impressive wielding of his trident.
