Ant Middleton, 40, is currently appearing in his final series of SAS: Who Dares Wins following his exit confirmation earlier this year. Now the presenter has opened up in a new interview about leaving the UK for Australia as he hit out at “cancel” culture.

Ant recently hit out at the UK for being too politically correct as he revealed his plans to move to Australia.

The former SAS: Who Dares Wins star explained: “I feel like I fit in here and that’s very strange being the person that I am.

“I don’t know whether the UK is just a bit pretentious for me, a bit too PC for me.”

“Where I can’t be myself, I have to suppress a part of me to fit in which I don’t like doing, which I won’t do as you’ve seen.”

Ant then added about Australia: “Here, I think you’ve got that balance right where you can be yourself and be honest.

“Don’t go out to offend people, make sure your actions aren’t malicious.

“I don’t go out to offend, I just go out to tell the truth.”

The best-selling author was a guest on the James Smith Media podcast earlier this week.

During their chat, he explained he was planning to make the move with his family to Australia.

He was in the country at the time, preparing to shoot the Australian version of SAS: Who Dares Win.

Ant also hit out at being “cancelled” when speaking to the podcaster and how it changed his work ethic.

He added: “All the fuel that goes in is negative fuel, it’s like, ‘F*** you.

‘Oh, you want to f***ing cancel me, do you? Well watch this.’”

This all comes after he left the UK version of the show earlier this year.

Back in March, Channel 4 released a statement stating they will not be working with Ant again.

This read: “Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

“Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again.”

At the time, Ant tweeted: “After 5 incredible years I’ve decided it’s time to move on from SAS Who Dares Wins UK.

“Big respect to my fellow DS – it’s been a journey I’ll never forget.

“Thanks to everyone that took part and made the show what it is. Really excited about the future and what’s coming this year.”

This came after he was criticised for his tweets on Black Lives Matter and the Covid-19 pandemic.
