Kacey Musgraves is taking home the Grammy for best country solo performance!
The singer won the prize for her song “Butterflies,” beating out fellow nominees Loretta Lynn (“Wouldn’t It Be Great?”), Maren Morris (“Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters”), Keith Urban (“Parallel Line”) and Chris Stapleton (“Millionaire”).
Her genre-defying track was inspired by how she fell in love with her now-husband Ruston Kelly.
“‘Butterflies’ is one of my favorite songs on the record,” Musgraves said told CMT in a radio interview in May. “Everything from the lyrics down to the production really represents this floaty, dreamy feeling that I got as soon as he came into my life.”

Musgraves’ nomination in this category comes alongside three other Grammy nominations this year including best country song for her hit “Space Cowboy” and two nods for her alternative country album Golden Hour, which was nominated for both best country album and album of the year.
