If you need a mom to attend your same-sex wedding, you can contact Sara Cunningham.
Back in July, Cunningham, who is a wedding officiant, posted on Facebook that she would happily serve as a stand-in for your real mom if she refused to attend your same-sex wedding.
“PSA. If you need a mom to attend your same sex wedding because your biological mom won’t. Call me. I’m there. I’ll be your biggest fan. I’ll even bring the bubbles,” wrote Cunningham.
As of Dec. 4, her post has been liked almost 10,000 times and received more than 900 comments. It’s inspired others to offer to volunteer to serve as stand-ins at gay weddings, too. People who aren’t moms offered to be there as a sister, a cousin or just to simply be present and support the union.
“I posted it out of frustration. So often I heard about parents who were not acknowledging these relationships or not attending the wedding,” Cunningham told People. “I made that post, not having any idea that it would go viral. But what happened is that, from all over the world, I heard from people…I got some invitations.”

Cunningham already has three weddings lined up for next year — not as an officiant, but as a stand-in mom, according to People.
