The two duchesses may have different fashion styles, but they do have one thing in common when dressing with a bump… they both love shorter hemlines.
One of Kate’s most-loved maternity brands is Seraphine, and founder Cecile Reinaud revealed to InStyle why hitching up the hems while pregnant can be more flattering.
She said: “She’s [Meghan’s] got very thin legs, you know, as we’ve seen with her flashing them on the royal tour.
"She’s likely to have quite a big bump because she’s quite a petite build … so highlighting legs and arms is always a good trick to keep a nice silhouette.
"[Kate] did [go shorter] for sure. She went shorter, on a couple of occasions well above her knee, which she never does normally.
"And especially in winter, because when she wore opaque black tights, it looks okay. It doesn’t look too much because it’s not bare legs, it’s black opaque tights with a shorter dress."
Cecile predicts that Meghan will take a leaf out of Kate’s book in shortening hemlines over winter, and wearing coat dresses as she did at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
The maternity label founder said that there is more “freedom” when dressing while pregnant as “people are less judgemental”.
However, she advised that if the royals show a bit of cleavage, they should keep it demure and elegant by covering the arms and legs.
Over the last couple of weeks, Meghan Markle has been providing some serious fashion inspo' with her stunning Royal tour wardrobe.
From an extravagant Oscar de la Renta gown to a £35 maternity dress from ASOS, the 37-year-old has also been wearing her favourite black skinny jeans.
Finishing off her super stylish ensemble, the Duchess of Sussex, who is expecting her first baby in Spring 2019, then gave a nod to the New Zealand fashion scene by wearing a £540 plaid trench coat from local designer Karen Walker.
In even more Meghan Markle news, Prince Harry was given a sneak preview of his wife's wedding outfit BEFORE their big day.
And this is why Meghan Markle's Royal Tour wardrobe could cost over DOUBLE the price of Kate Middleton's.
Plus this is the sweet Princess Diana-related nickname Meghan Markle has been given by palace insiders.
