Mum removes stubborn scorch marks from iron in MINUTES using Paracetamol tablet

OVER time many irons can get black scorch marks on the underside – but there’s a handy trick for getting them looking as good as new again.

Believe it or not, but you can get your iron sparkling with a Paracetamol tablet.

Mums are swearing by the unusual cleaning hack, which banishes stains within minutes.

To remove the stubborn stain, you have to turn your iron onto the maximum heat setting.

Hold the Paracetamol tablet between a pair of tweezers and carefully rub it on the hot iron plate, and the stains should begin to slide off.

Continue until all the marks are removed from the plate and your iron should look new again.

It’s not the only way to clean your burnt iron, and there are numerous ways to take action.

Baking soda is another household product that seems to be a good all-rounder – it's not just for cake baking!

Make a paste consisting of two tbsp of baking powder and one tbsp of water and spread over the iron's plate while cool and rub with a non-scratch cloth.

This iron, I’m embarrassed to say, was in need of a decent clean & this result was from a paracetamol tablet would you believe. The iron needs to be hot & switched on whilst you rub the tablet over it, just use tongs to hold the tablet as you do it so’s not to burn yourself! pic.twitter.com/AoMw4u8Rvq

Wipe it off with a damp cloth.

Salt can also be used and you should start by laying a clean, dry, cotton cloth onto your ironing board.

Sprinkle the cloth with sea salt and set your iron to a high temperature.

Iron over the salt several times until the burn stains come away.
